If im going back to S'pore before that i am going to:
  • Eat skewer at xiao dong men.
  • Cycle around the school and take photos for memory.
  • Take picture with my supervisor, lab mates that im working with.
  • Go to city for the very last time
  • Go dye my hair and maybe if possible go rebond my hair ( my friend said im crazy to rebond hair as its already straight... =/ so sld i rebond?? )

  • And the lists goes on and on.......
Well last week we never travel to any other places... stayed in wuxi and shop around the city area... Chong An shi and Chang An Shi. Went to eat Buffet with Lesley on saturday. I really miss eating buffet and so we went to the Buffet restaurant which we came across before when we were shopping around but never had the chance to go in and eat.... and then i start taking pictures while eating!Lesley followed me and start taking pictures too! HahA! I guess both of us enjoyed ourselves on that day!

Bought quite a few things on Sunday... Bought 2 dresses which i dont think i will wear. Lol ! Bought a skirt too cuz i miss wearing skirt! Hahaa.... but i wont wear in China... Maybe i will give my sis to wear! LoL!

Lesley was sick on Monday...She kept vomiting.... i thought it was the maggie noodles that i have cooked.. or something to do with the tap water =/ Omg~~~ Got so frightened that i dont even know what to do.... She knocked on my door to say she's not feeling well ... she told me that it could be due to the mothball smell so i told her to open the window to let the smell out... I was so insensitive! =( I should have thought that it could be something more than just the smell of the stupid mothball.... Lucky she's alright... ! I dont even know what to do on that day but only to accompany her in hostel during lunch break and at night during dinner time...
Feeling quite abit lost....

Beijing trip!

1st of May, Thursday was a public holiday. I shall say we were all waiting for these 'long' holiday. Went to Beijing during these 3 days... Its a long 10 hours plus train trip from Wuxi to Beijing. So we took the 8pm plus train which would reach around 6 plus the next morning.
Our trip begin!

Blur pciture ..... But we are at train station waiting for the train to Beijing!

When we arrived in Beijing, i suddenly have this feeling of Omg we have finally reach! Nearly die seating for so long... didnt really sleep well cuz the man beside me was snoring loudly! =/ We book into a hotel after much persuasion from one of the workers working in the hua jie lou liu guan... The room is so much better as compared to the ones we stay in Shanghai and Nanjing....
Went to put our things and start our journey! We walk to TianAnMen since its of walking distance and its super crowded. I shall not say too much.. Basically been visiting places and going shopping.

People queueing up to see Mao Zhe Dong's body. If we were to queue in the morning, we may be able to see it only around 4 to 5 pm. -.-" Skip that in order to save time!

That picture is Mao Zhe Dong ( Forgive me if i spell his name wrongly)
Forbidden City, 故宫博物院

Consisting of over 9,000 rooms and spread over 250 acres, this large palace complex was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 18th century and on wards during the Qing Dynasty.

Summer Palace, 颐和园

As the largest royal garden in China, Beijing's Summer Palace is actually a parklike imperial retreat spread out over 10 square miles. The Summer Palace in northwest suburban Beijing is the largest and most complete imperial garden existing in China. Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 290-acre park is still a retreat for the tourists, who can relax here or walk around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake. Summer Palace mainly consists of Longevity Hill (Washoushan) and Kunming Lake.

These damn cotton wool dunno come from where or from which tree..... I tried not to breathe much so it wont trigger my asthma... Its like floating verywhere.. =(

The Olympics station

The olympics station which is going to be open up soon for the 2008 olympics! Well.... its a disappointment cuz the whole place is being seal up to protect the newly build station... Took photos around it...

The second day of the trip.....

It was super tiring cuz we have to wake up at 4 plus am.... gosh! This time we followed tour group and so we have to wake up at this timing... faint~~~

Badaling Great Wall, 八达岭长城

Badaling Great Wall is located at Yanqing County, more than 70 kilometers northwest from the center of Beijing City. It is a mountain pass of the Jundu Mountain. Badaling is at the highest point of north end of the Guan'gou gorge, in which the Juyongguan Pass lies. In the history, the function of Badaling Great Wall was to protect the Juyongguan Pass. Badaling Great Wall became a very important military strategic place since the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 476 BC) and the Warring States Period (476 BC - 221 BC). Many incomplete parts of the wall were proved to be built in the Warring States Period.

Does the ride look thrilling to you? Haha... its not at all! Its super slow...

I finished climbing the whole of Great wall and therefore.... entitled a cert!! =X
Im Joking....its impossible to do that... >.<

Next we went to Jade factory which of cuz.... manufacture Jade! Its so super expensive lah! See see and took photos only.... Bought Jade later on at other place which is so much cheaper cuz the boss gave us 'discount'... Dunno if its fake jade... =X

This teapot is super cool!

Ming Tombs ( 13 tombs in Ming Dynasty ),十三陵

Nothing to describe... basically im surrounded with tombs! ~.~

This is the burial site of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. There are just two tombs which have been excavated and open to the public: Dingling and Changling. Changling is the first tomb to be built. It took 2 years for renovation, and was opened in 1958. Dingling has been excavated so thoroughly that one has to get into the burial chamber itself.

Then we went to visit one of the places which i dunno what it is called... guess its about the history of the emperors... and then we pass by this place where we could try out the costumes and take photos.. We were not suppose to take our own photos... secretly took one... Paid for 30 rmb for the other 2 photos which they help us take... super ex....

I look like the palace maid...cuz she's so tall =(

Beijing City!

We went to the city at night after the travel tour ended! Super shagged after the whole thing... The city is really a very nice one! Love it.

I nearly vomit after seeing that they sold this kind of 'food'. The above one are scorpions!!Arghh!!! Puke!

The Singapore Cuisine! Aww~~~ make me feel so happy seeing this... kind of miss s'pore too! Our second ended and we went back... reached the hotel around 11 plus.... So tired!

The temple of heaven, 天坛
It is located in the southern part of Beijing, and has been one of the most holy places for the whole country for more than five centuries. It used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors, and is the largest one in Beijing among several royal altars to Heaven, Earth, the Sun, the Moon and other deities or symbolic forces of Nature.

We didnt really enjoyed the third day cuz it rain after we walk a few of the places in the temple of heaven... Haix.. So sad! Did not walk finish! Our pants and shoes were soaking wet .... The heaviest rain i have seen ever since i came to China! HaHa!

haix... i want take picture over here! Dragon!

The 3 gals wore raincoat.. we took umbrella....
And so our trip ended... back to school on Sunday as it was to replace the extra Friday's holiday... Never even have the time to rest cuz we reach our hostel around 7 plus in the morning... put our stuffs, wash up and go to the lab! Lol.... Tired!
