Its already one week since i arrived in china. Jiangnan university is really very big and beautiful and the students and professors there are all very nice people. The first day when we reach shanghai railway station, the 5 of us were abit lost and what worst is that we cant get the last train as there were no more tickets left. Have to contact the person-in-charge to inform that we were unable to reach wuxi due to no tickets available. Stay a night in a very cheap hotel..hmm if i did not remember wrongly, it should be $20 sing dollar? Maybe cheaper than that. Woke up early and reached wuxi where the Jiangnan uni students came and pick us up. They are known as Zibo and Zhiwei. Both of them are very nice and friendly but Zibo talk more compared to zhiwei. Zhiwei speak really quite good English i should say. He can almost translate most of the Chinese to English.Our luggage are so heavy and i think they got a shocked when they carry our luggage.
The hostel room is very nice actually. Not as bad as what was expected. Except the fact that i have to wear slippers to walk around the room as i am unable to mop the floor as i did not have a mop or stuff. still need to buy some stuffs before i can do much. Move my bed over to lesley room as we did not want to sleep alone. We each have our own room. The room is quite nice with cosy bed and a nice study table.
I got quite abit lost when attachment just start. I dont even know what to do and stuff. The first few days i kept reading scientific reports and at some time i nearly fall asleep cuz i was staring at the screen for long hours. Better hope that my supervisor did not see...
5 of us were spilt into 2 groups. I was together with SH and so we were in the same lab group but not same topic for project. Yesterday was so embarassing.. The other group of my friends were having lunch tgt with their teachers and i didnt really know until i reached there. SH have to go back to s'pore due to some family problem and so i went to join Lesley and friends so i wont be all alone. The problem is they were in the same lab group together and on that day they will having lunch with other members in the lab as well as their teachers-in-charge. Awww!! It is just so pai sei that i dont even dare to eat much and kept thinking about the situation later on.
Start doing experiment yesterday too. Prepare sterile liquid for washing microorganism endospores. Then have to go back to the lab at night to do lab work again. This time is microoragnism innoculation and preparation of medium as nutrients for microorganism growth. The science students there are really very hardworking and that they really treat their lab work very seriously. This is the spirit that i think we all need to learn from. You can really see that there are still many bicycles outside the school of biotechnology which indicates how hardworking the ppls are. I shall show you the photos next time again.
On saturaday, we went to wuxi city area to exchange our singapore money and also to shop for some stuffs. However unfortunately, I am unable to continue shopping and have to go off around near 11 as i have to join my lab group members for lunch. My lab group are very nice too. However, they asked me so many questions that i dont even know how to answer them. Sh is not there and i feel so helpless when so many questions was directed at me. Went back to hostel after that. So tired lah!
Haix... Im having quite a few problems these few days making me even more busy
-I cant view blogs now cuz it was blocked ... i shall see how ba.
-The toilet bowl is giving me problems and it's struck.
-The shower heater stops working when i bath half way and so i have to bath with cold water suddenly.
-I am abit lost now.
Still before i came to China, i had enjoy the days with all my friends. Dinner, Chatting and shopping. Well, its only 3 plus months quite short... Shocked when i quite of like everything here...its weather even though its extremely cold, the school and the food and snacks here since its so cheap and have many varities. =)
